Who is Behind CTCAD?
Hi,
My name is Chris Thevenot, I am the director of CTCAD. I graduated with a Master degree in Mechanical Engineering (Focused on Fluid Mechanics) at University of Nancy, France in 2009. To accomplish my studies, I did my master thesis at the University of Canterbury (Christchurch), where I worked on a problem of fluid structure interaction (FEA Simulation). It was an amazing experience, which made me want to live in New Zealand. After working on Different projects in France (Construction, Airbus, Airbags), I decided to move to New Zealand in 2015 where I gained more experience in product design.
I have had the chance to be mentored by very talented people throughout my career, therefore I decided to start CTCAD, to share my skills and gain more.
As many kiwis I enjoy outdoor activities, but I am also passionate about making manufacturing efficient and work with great integrity. I believe CAD is a fantastic tool providing countless benefit to a product based business.

Industrial Umbrella
Design of a cantilevered umbrella with various sizes up to 6m wide. Workshop Drafting, proper BOM and complete CAD file made.
Spraying System Boom 1
Our biggest Mechanical engineering design project we worked on. This is a 2 stage boom used to spray chemicals onto a conveyor belt.
Spraying Booth
Design Engineering of a stainless booth, fitting for a 11Ft belt press, used for spraying chemicals. It uses mechanical side walls to control spraying width.
Spraying System Boom 2
Similar to previous boom, but this machine has a 3 stage telescopic boom. This represents a dual system with mechanical side wall control.
Mechanical Winch
Mechanical winch used for winding up and down industrial grade shade products.
Pump Station
CAD Design and manufacturing drawings for a pump station.
FEA Analysis
Study of a reverse engineering problem for the creation of new flow control devices.
